July 8, 2025 – New search tools for Artist Dynamix, front and back

The new, improved search results page on the Artist Dynamix website.

Last week, we shared that we’d improved how people access the search bar on our site, adding a scroll jump when you type #search into any URL on artistdynamix.com and placing a new shortcut under the “Resources” menu.

Today, we’re sharing what was happening behind the scenes at the same time: the search engine itself was getting an upgrade.

The default WordPress search is fine if your site is a blog from 2008. Shots fired. But it doesn’t search custom fields, isn’t typo-tolerant, and has no idea what’s most relevant to your query. On content-rich sites like ours, that means visitors often hit dead ends.

So we fixed it.

We’ve set up a smarter, more flexible search system that looks at more fields, ranks content more helpfully, and handles real-world searches like someone looking for “audit” but typing “audits”. It’s still fast, but it’s far more useful.

Why are we doing this?

We’re working on new content that will be especially useful to local businesses; resources, reports, and toolkits — and it helps to have strong search infrastructure in place.

This also gives us a clean template we can implement on other sites, including client sites. Better search is one of those behind-the-scenes features that makes a big difference when it’s done right.

And when we test features like this and they work well, we add them to the AdX Mother, our core WordPress build that serves as the starting point, or seed file as we call it, for many of our projects. It’s how we move faster, avoid reinventing the wheel, and give every client a head start with great plugins that we know work and make WordPress zoom like Skype.

More shots fired.

Sorry zoom. And sorry Skype that they had to kill you. You were the seed file of Zoom calls. Tribute to you.

More updates soon. We’re constantly building tools that work harder for our clients.
